I conducted five interviews and collected data to have a better view of the user's necessities.

I found what my interviews had in common, and I worked with the information to create a user persona.

The main idea for the app is to create an account with the Tuki tuki resort assistant and create customizable reservations for restaurants and activities in the resort, to lower crowd contact.

User Flow

I designed a path to guide the user to the different steps in the app to choose their reservation preferences.

3- Prototype and Usability Testing

Testing

The prototype was tested two times.

The first test gave me feedback to improve and create the second prototype.

The second test showed major improvement and better usability for the users.

Conclusions

This challenge has been a constructive learning journey. It has given me confidence and experience in creating and developing an idea from zero to a useful prototype.

In the design process, there is always room for improvement. It is also a time for you as a designer to accept your limitations and learn new skills, as well as to understand when it is time to move on to the next project.

Tuki tuki stands as an app full of potential and a great solution for the original problem of Covid-19 safety.

The Tuki tuki app had a great welcoming from the users I introduced it to.  The users expressed feeling taken care of by the function of reservations for activities and meals, in these uncertain times of pandemic.

The Challenge

With Covid-19 forcing many families to lockdown, the resort industry struggled to find new and safe ways to provide their services. I was challenged to create a solution that satisfied both parties. Families are looking for reconnection in a safe manner and enjoyment in a thoughtful environment that provides them with activities and follows the protocols of safety. The resort industry is looking for a creative solution to provide safety, fun, and services to their guests.

My Role

User researcher, UX Designer, Visual UI Designer.

User-Centered Design Process

I started by interviewing moms between 35 and 45 years old.

I wanted to understand their point of view, their fears, and what makes them feel safe in these difficult times of Covid-19.

Inspired by the research phase, I ideated a solution to create a resort assistant call Tuki tuki.

In order to create the most family-friendly trip assistant, Tuki tuki will solve moms’ problems of avoiding unsafe crowds during covid by giving them an app to book and track reservations for restaurants, room service, and activities when vacationing in an all-inclusive resort.

I created a clickable screen solution. The prototype was tested two times to improve features and design.

The results led to the creation of the final product.
